Alce Nero extra dark chocolate bar features the full and strong flavour of 80% cocoa and is enriched with roasted cocoa nibs, which makes it pleasantly rough on the palate. The cocoa used for our dark chocolate with cocoa nibs is certified Fairtrade and comes from Latin America where it is grown by groups of farmers, including the members of the Appta Association in Costa Rica and the Norandino Cooperative in Peru. After the beans have been roasted they are processed using the expertise of the historic Swiss chocolatier, Chocolat Stella, an Alce Nero partner. Alce Nero, the Appta Association and the Norandino Cooperative are part of Cooperativa Sin Fronteras, a cooperative which has promoted the quality and wholesomeness of raw ingredients since it was established, but which, more than anything else, fosters social and environmental sustainability.
